My Blog Spot

I wanted to use this first blog post to put a few thoughts into words. This blog is not a place for hate or distasteful comments. We all make decisions and have free will. Sometimes, hasty choices are made without careful consideration. When we make mistakes, it can be easy to look for someone to blame. However, it's important to reflect on our actions and understand the consequences of our decisions.

Matthew 9:12-13 12 But when he heard it, he said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” (ESV)

God did not intend his creation to die to sin. As the world grew darker and began to grow deeper in sin, Jesus was sent to remind us that we are not alone. If sin did not exist in each of us, there would be no need for a Savior. We are all sinners. Jesus offers new life to sinners. The world would want us to think that there are those that appear to live sin free. This is not so. We are all in need of a Savior.

As we seek forgiveness from the Savior, we can let go and give Jesus the opportunity to work within. Make talking with Jesus a part of your daily life, He is always available to you.

Through prayer and reflection, we open the door to a profound relationship with the Savior, one that illuminates our path even in the darkest moments. Jesus calls us not only to receive His grace but also to share it with others. When we extend kindness, forgiveness, and love to those around us, we embody His teachings and become vessels of His light.

Life may present trials that test our faith, but Jesus assures us that in Him, we find strength to endure and overcome. When we anchor our hearts in His truth, fears subside, and hope flourishes. Trust in His promises, for His love is steadfast and His mercy boundless.

Let us not forget the beauty of surrendering our burdens to Jesus. In doing so, we experience the freeing power of His grace, which transforms our weaknesses into testimonies of His power. Each day is an invitation to draw closer to Him, to embrace the peace that surpasses understanding, and to walk boldly in the assurance of His salvation.

Who is like the Lord our God?

Psalm 113:1-3

1. Praise the Lord!

Praise, O Servants of the Lord,

praise the name of the Lord!

2. Blessed be the name of the Lord

from this time forth and forevermore

 3. From the rising of the sun to its setting,

the name of the Lord is to be praised (ESV)

These verses are a call to worship! The repetition of the word "worship" emphasizes the importance of worshipping God! There are no limits to the praise that God is worthy of. There can only be joy in worshipping God for all that He does in our life. This is a call to ALL people, throughout the world, to worship at all times!

Psalm 115:1-8

1 Not to us, Lord, not to us

but to your name be the glory,

because of your love and faithfulness,

2 Why do the nations say

Where is their God?

3 Our God is in Heaven

He does whatever pleases Him

4 But their idols are silver and gold,

made by human hands,

5 They have hands, but cannot speak

eyes, but cannot see

6 They have ears, but cannot hear

noses, but cannot smell,

7 They have hands, but cannot feel,

feet, but cannot walk,

nor can they utter a sound with their throats

8 Those who make them will be like them

and so will all who trust in them

This verse highlights how foolish the idol worship is and the superiority of the one true God. Reminds believers to trust in the living God and not the handmade images that this world offers. The living God IS active, sovereign and more than worthy of all our praise.

My prayer is that we all focus on the one true God and leave the false images of this world behind. God offers love and understanding to all those who call upon the name of the Lord!

Mark 10:44-45:

" whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (ESV).

Serving

It is important to remember that Christ served mankind. We are all called to serve the Lord, we each have within us a gift that God has given us that can be used in service. Reading for the blind or elderly, volunteering in any capacity is a service that holds rewards for the soul.

There is no better way to serve the Lord than through prayer, Pray for our world, our country, our people. Prayer for God’s intervention in our life.

The world has left us struggling to survive, our time filled with jobs and running chores for our families. We do not know when we will have time in our busy schedule to serve. Sunday is the day that we choose to sleep in and rejuvenate in order to wake up on Monday ready to work for our worldly responsibility. There should always be time for service, for love, for our neighbor, to attend church for the betterment of our children. We should love ourselves enough to make time for the Lord.

Jesus gave his life for you. The nail in his hands and feet, the spear in his side. All of these things he did for you. Do you have time for Him?

John 15:13

“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (ESV)

Please remember to say a prayer for the families of all the men and women who have laid down their lives in order for us to celebrate this Memorial Day. These men and women rather by choice or by draft gave the absolute most for our Country. Thank God for the United States, our government, (rather we agree with ho is President or not) and these men and women.

Those who served deserve our love and remembrance today and every day. Praise God these men and women loved this country that we live in!

10 Commandments

  1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
  2. You shall not make idols.
  3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
  4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
  5. Honor your father and your mother.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not commit adultery.
  8. You shall not steal.
  9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  10. You shall not covet.

The Ten Commandments are just as valuable  today as they were when they were handed down from Moses. They teach us how to live a life that is honest. We should always carry these Commandments in our heart and live a life that is pleasing to God.

The psalmist tells us, "How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!" (Psalm 133:10) In a world of uncertainty, we should all find the courage to rise and come together in the name of Jesus Christ! The Bible is clear and we should all take the Word of our God seriously. Jesus will be coming back to receive the children of God and we should all pray  that we are taken into His arms. The cost of love is free, Jesus paid that debt for you. What are you willing to do for Him?

Colossians 3:23

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." (NIV)

We should do all things with a heart full of the love of Christ and to bring honor to Christ. While here we are responsible for those duties that our earthly employers assign to us. We are responsible at all times to those things of the Lord. This includes all earthly matters.
